Acceptable Use Policy
Use Synthibase for healthcare testing with fake data. Don't submit generated transactions as real claims. Don't enter real patient information. Don't share your account. If you're unsure whether something is allowed, ask us first.
Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes permitted and prohibited uses of the Synthibase platform. This policy exists to protect our users, protect third parties, and ensure the platform is used for its intended purpose: healthcare implementation testing with synthetic data.
Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
Permitted Uses
- Generate synthetic X12 EDI transactions (834, 837, 835, 277, 278) for testing EHR systems
- Generate synthetic HL7 v2 messages for integration engine testing
- Test Epic, Cerner, Meditech, and other EHR go-live scenarios
- Validate interface engine configurations (Rhapsody, Edifecs, Mirth Connect, etc.)
- Create and manage test cases for implementation projects
- Generate sign-off reports for go-live approval processes
- Train implementation staff on EDI and HL7 transaction formats
- Demonstrate platform capabilities to clients using fictional data
- Test payer connectivity using sandbox/test environments
Prohibited Uses
- Submit generated transactions to real payers, clearinghouses, or production EHR systems as actual claims
- Enter, store, or process real patient protected health information (PHI)
- Enter real Social Security numbers, actual member IDs, or genuine NPI numbers belonging to real providers
- Generate fraudulent insurance claims or remittance advice
- Attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or extract the AI generation models
- Share your account credentials with other individuals
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
- Attempt to access other organizations' data
- Use the platform to facilitate any illegal activity
- Resell or sublicense access to the platform
- Use automated scripts to bulk-generate transactions beyond normal use
Real Patient Data
This is our most important rule. Synthibase is a synthetic data platform. Under no circumstances should real patient information be entered into any field:
- Use fictional names, not real patient names
- Use fictional dates of birth
- Use fictional member ID numbers — do not use real member IDs from production systems
- Use fictional SSN/TIN values — do not use real Social Security numbers
- Use fictional NPI numbers or clearly test NPIs — do not use real provider NPIs from production databases
- Use test payer IDs — do not use real payer IDs for production submission
Entering real patient data into Synthibase may constitute a HIPAA violation for which you and your organization are solely responsible.
